Privacy Policy

What we ask for, why we ask for it, and what happens to it afterwards. It is shorter than most because this site collects very little.

UjjainSeva arranges pujas, stays, darshan days and cabs in Ujjain. This page describes what we do with the personal details you give us. It applies to this website and to the WhatsApp conversations that follow from it.

What this site collects on its own

Nothing is stored on this site. There is no account to create, no password, no payment and no form that submits to a server of ours. Every enquiry form on these pages does one thing: it writes a message for you and opens WhatsApp with that message ready to send. Until you press send, nothing has left your phone.

What you send us, and why

When you send the message, we receive what you typed into it. Depending on what you are arranging, that is some of the following, and we ask for it only because the booking cannot be made without it:

  • Your name and phone number, so we can reply and so the hotel or the driver knows who to expect.
  • Your dates, the number of people travelling, and pick-up and drop points, to make the booking.
  • For a puja, the names and gotra for the sankalp, and where the rite is set from a chart, the date, time and place of birth. This goes to the pandit performing it and to nobody else.
  • Anything else you choose to tell us in the message.

Who we pass it to

Only to the hotel, driver or pandit who is carrying out the thing you booked, and only the part they need: a hotel is told the names, the dates and the room; a driver is told the pick-up, the drop and your number; a pandit is told the names and gotra for the sankalp. We do not sell your details, we do not pass them to anyone for advertising, and we do not share them with other travellers.

Where the conversation lives

Our conversation with you sits in WhatsApp, which is run by Meta and is covered by its own privacy terms rather than ours. Your messages to us are end-to-end encrypted in transit. We keep the thread so that we have a written record of what was agreed, which protects you as much as us, and we keep booking details for as long as our accounts require.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages people actually read, so we know which guides are worth writing. It records pages viewed and whether a WhatsApp button was pressed. It does not receive your name, your phone number, your birth details or anything you type into an enquiry. If you would rather not be counted, any browser setting or extension that blocks analytics will stop it, and the site works exactly the same.

What this site does not do

  • No payment is taken on this site, so no card or bank details ever reach it.
  • No advertising or retargeting pixels are loaded.
  • No photograph on this site is of a named guest, and we never publish a guest photograph.

Asking us to delete it

Message us on the same WhatsApp number and ask, and we will delete what we hold, apart from anything we are required to keep for tax or accounting. Tell us if a booking is still in progress, because deleting the details mid-booking usually means cancelling it.

Children

This site is not aimed at children, and we only ever receive a child’s details as part of a family booking made by an adult — a count of children, and their ages where a room or an extra bed depends on it.

Changes, and how to reach us

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. For anything about your own details, write to us at the email address or the WhatsApp number in the footer.
