About Hotel Avantika
Hotel Avantika sits in the lanes immediately off the Mahakal approach, which is the whole reason to stay here. You are out of the door and at the gate before a taxi would have reached you, and you come back to the room between darshan and the evening aarti instead of waiting out the afternoon in the heat.
The rooms are plain and well kept rather than large. That is the trade on this side of the city: you are paying for the four hundred metres, not for the furniture.

- One government photo ID for every adult guest at check-in. Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID. A PAN card is not accepted as ID.

- Children under 5 stay free in the existing bedding. Ages 5 to 12 are charged for an extra bed where one is needed.

- Nothing is taken on this site. We confirm the room and the rate with you on WhatsApp, and you pay the hotel at check-in unless the date needs an advance, in which case we say so first.

Questions people ask
- Can we leave for the Bhasma Aarti at half past one in the morning?
- Yes. Reception is staffed through the night and the front door is opened for guests leaving for the aarti. Tell us when you book so the hotel expects you.
- Is there parking?
- The lanes here are narrow and closed to cars at some hours. If you are driving yourself, we would put you across the city instead and send a car for the aarti.
- Is there a lift?
- We confirm the floor and whether there is a lift before anything is held. Tell us if anyone in the party cannot manage stairs and we will only offer rooms that work.
