About Ujjainata

Ujjainata is in Freeganj, which is the part of Ujjain built for travellers rather than for pilgrims: walkable from the station, somewhere to eat late, and rooms that are newer and bigger than anything in the lanes by the temple.

It is the right answer for two or three nights, for a family that wants an afternoon rest in a decent room, and for anybody arriving off a late train. For the aarti we send a car; it is twelve minutes at that hour.

Subject to the room being free. For a pre-dawn Bhasma Aarti, ask us to book the night before instead — it is the only way to be certain.
Cancellation
Free up to 48 hours before check-in on ordinary dates. Festival dates, Shravan Mondays and Mahashivratri are quoted with their own terms, which we state in writing before anything is held.
ID at check-in
One government photo ID for every adult guest at check-in. Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID. A PAN card is not accepted as ID.
Children
Children under 5 stay free in the existing bedding. Ages 5 to 12 are charged for an extra bed where one is needed.
Extra bed
An extra mattress can be added to most rooms. The charge is confirmed with your quote.
Paying
Nothing is taken on this site. We confirm the room and the rate with you on WhatsApp, and you pay the hotel at check-in unless the date needs an advance, in which case we say so first.

Questions people ask

How do we get to the temple at four in the morning?
We send a car. It is twelve minutes at that hour and we book it with the room, so there is nothing to arrange on the night.
Is it noisy?
Freeganj is a working part of town, so it is busy by day and quiet by night. It is considerably quieter than the lanes near the temple, where the noise starts before dawn.
Can we check in late off a night train?
Yes. Reception is staffed through the night. Give us the train number and we will tell the hotel to expect you.
